Every byte matters.
We're a small studio designing focused Android apps — ad-free, fast, and built to respect your data. No bloat, no dark patterns, no selling your data. Just software that does its job well.
Built by people who actually listen to music.
Redbyt started out of frustration with bloated, ad-heavy music apps that treat your library as a data-collection opportunity. We wanted something fast, clean, and honest to listen to our own music on — so we built it.
Years later, we're still independent, still self-funded, and still answering support emails ourselves. No private equity, no investor decks, no growth-hacking playbooks — just software we'd want to use.
How we build.
Six principles guide every release, no matter how small.
Ad-free by design
Ads disrupt focus and drain your device. Every product we ship stays clean — no banners, no interstitials, no ad trackers.
Performance first
Every line of code is deliberate. We keep binaries lightweight, memory usage low, and prioritize native execution to respect your battery and hardware.
Offline-first privacy
Your music library stays on your device — we don't index it, upload it, or track what you listen to. We use basic app analytics and crash reporting to keep things stable, but never to track your behavior or build a profile of you.
Respect for attention
We build tools, not traps. We refuse to use dark patterns, artificial engagement loops, or spammy push notifications. Our apps do their job brilliantly, and then get out of your way.
Native harmony
An app should feel like a natural extension of your device. We embrace modern platform standards — expressive design systems, fluid animations — so our interfaces feel familiar and deeply integrated.
Honest monetization
No hidden subscriptions, no holding your data hostage, and no confusing paywalls. If we charge for a premium feature, the value is clear and the core experience remains uncompromised.
Octave, our flagship player.
Octave is an offline music player for Android, built for people who care about sound quality and a clean interface. No subscriptions, no ads — just your library, shaped the way you want it.
Studio-Grade Sound
Take total control with a 31-band EQ, heavy bass boost, and flawless Hi-Res lossless playback. ReplayGain keeps your volume perfectly leveled — no jumps, just clean audio.

Questions, answered.
The short version of everything you might want to know.
Is Octave really free?
Yes. Octave is free to download and use. Premium is an optional one-time purchase that removes ads for good and unlocks extra tools like batch tag editing and Android Auto — no subscriptions, ever.
What's included in Premium?
A one-time purchase unlocks smart volume normalization, tap-to-skip lyrics, unlimited recent queues and jump-back-in, batch tag editing, an advanced theme editor, Android Auto integration, custom position-saving, pause/resume on mute, split artist and genre tags, and repeat-track controls — plus, of course, a guaranteed ad-free experience.
Does Octave need an internet connection?
No. Octave is built offline-first — it plays music straight from your device's storage. No WiFi or mobile data required.
What audio formats does it support?
FLAC, MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, and M4A, all with gapless playback and a 31-band EQ.
What sound tools does the EQ include?
Beyond the 31-band equalizer, you get a limiter, bass boost, treble boost, reverb, compressor, and pre-amp — full studio-style control over your sound.
Does Octave support synced lyrics?
Yes. Octave supports synced lyrics, LRC files, and plain lyrics, and can smartly find and download lyrics for whatever's currently playing. Tap any line in synced lyrics to jump the player straight to that moment.
Do you track my listening habits?
No. We use basic app analytics and crash reporting to catch bugs and understand usage, like most apps do, but never to track your behavior, build a profile of you, or see your library or listening history. We never sell your data.
Can I edit my music library?
Yes. The built-in tag editor covers metadata and album art downloads, and lets you build synced lyrics manually or fetch them from the internet and embed them right into the file's tags. You can also save or import embedded lyrics to and from LRC files, plus organize everything with smart playlists and folder browsing.
How many songs can Octave handle?
Octave is built for huge libraries — load, browse, and manage 20,000+ tracks without a single stutter.
Does it work with Android Auto?
Yes — Android Auto integration is included with Premium, so you can control playback safely while driving.
